20k House Challenge

Hello everyone, and welcome back! I hope to be more active here now that I am finally feeling like my old self again. It has been a trying and exhausting year. I was in a toxic work environment that sapped all of my creative energy. I am no longer in that environment, and am getting the creative juices flowing again! On top of that, we had some big family drama happen that resulted in one of my aunts moving back to my state.

I also broke my wrist back in July, and had surgery on it. I am still in recovery, but am able to use the computer. I don’t have a set schedule for posting- I decided that I am not going to stick to one. This blog is just for fun, and I will post when inspiration strikes!

For this post, I did a build challenge that I came across in the Sims Sanctuary group I joined a year or so ago. It’s a great group of people with little to no drama. The challenge was to build a home worth 20,000 Simoleons. This included landscaping.

Of course, I had to make a sim for this so I could play it out. Her name is Alaina, and she is a spellcaster. She wants to be a wellness coach and zen guru, so I designed her home around that. I made it a minimalist loft style home.

On the main floor is an open-room design- kitchen, dining and living space. The bathroom is on the main floor as well. I used Queen Anne and Horse Ranch style furniture along with Country Clutter for the fridge and oven. I also used Realm of Magic for some of the paintings on the walls on the main floor.

I also played around with the ceiling tiles for the first time since they added those in! I think it’s really cool that we can FINALLY customize those.

For the second floor, I added the bedroom- a single bed from Realm of Magic, a shelf unit to hang her clothes, a yoga mat and a massage chair. When she reaches level 5 of Wellness, I will consider either adding another floor- maybe an attic type room above the loft space, and a large basement.

The plan for the basement is this: to move all the wellness and fitness activities there so that she can start seeing clients. I want to add a storm cellar type door for people to go through to make it interesting. It will just be a small room with a roof over it lol. I plan on adding a sauna and a hot tub if there is room for both.

When Alaina hits level 10, I will re-arrange the outdoor garden and add a small swimming pool. I may add it now, but I’ll block it off or something so that she can’t access it until a certain level. When she hits level 10, she’ll join the wellness career if there is one. I am also going to have her learn how to make herbal remedies and mixes.

I have toyed with the idea of adding a cauldron onto the lot, but they are so big that I don’t know if there is enough room. I may have to add a little witch shed to store it in. Hmm. That might not be a bad idea. It could also be where she does her flower arranging as well.

As you can see, I have a plethora of ideas for this build. I am currently accepting build requests, so feel free to submit them using the form below. All fields in the form are required in order for me to consider it.

Thank you for watching my video and reading my post! To stay up to date, please join my newsletter. I’ll only send out emails as I update the website. Also, I may be able to re-purchase the original domain again soon. As soon as I can afford it, if it hasn’t been purchased yet, I will move the site back there.
